Karen is a trained registered nurse who worked and specialised in England, and then abroad in the middle East and Europe.
After meeting and marrying Gérard her french husband in Lausanne, Switzerland, the couple continued to work and ski for five years before deciding to settle in England. Here Karen specialised further in NHS training and management, yet also found time to run fun french clubs for primary children and raise three children.
In 2000 a job proposition for Gerard in his home town, moved the family to Caveirac a village near the roman city of Nimes. Here they appreciate the pace of life, the local customs and village life. Karen already knew the area well, but now fully appreciates the variety of landscape and the warmth of its people; She continues to teach english, is active in various associations in Nimes and in Caveirac - loves classical singing, dancing and who would have thought it since being in the south of France – Ice Hockey !!!
