Apartment For Sale in Paris 5th (Latin Quarter – Mouffetard)

Paris 5th – In the heart of the Latin Quarter, near the Sorbonne, and tucked away on Paris’s oldest pedestrian street (closed to traffic in 1972), lies this four-story building, erected in 1700 and resembling a private mansion.

Access is through a courtyard paved with typical Parisian cobblestones, watched over by a reclining sculpture of a woman on the steps, behind which mascarons adorn the facade. The apartment, requiring complete renovation, has a weighted area of 150 m2, comprising 98.97 m2 on the ground floor, plus an additional 102.47 m2 in the basement, for a total floor area of 244.23 m2.

The apartment’s entrance sets the tone with the expected charm of the place, respecting the original construction: exposed beams, stone floors, half-timbered walls, and fireplaces. The authenticity of the property is fully realized in the double living room, which benefits from its dual aspect, opening onto the paved courtyard and a private patio. Two bedrooms, also accessible from this patio, offer both independence and a welcoming flow. A third, separate bedroom and two bathrooms complete this level.

A flight of stairs leads to the lower level, where the grand vaulted ceilings and exposed stone walls create a striking backdrop. Here, you’ll discover various spaces converted into bedrooms, libraries, or showcases for diverse collections. The generous proportions allow for all kinds of layouts, from the most classic to the most eccentric!

The historical character of the property, enhanced by the use of period materials, offers numerous possibilities for customization, making this apartment a rare and truly memorable property.
